mobile & social event information delivery

Live Colony imports, normalizes, maps & distributes event content from any type of source onto mobile devices and other online services.

Whether you produce a mailing list with a small, loyal following or a large, national event calendar with audiences all over the US, Live Colony uses simple, industry-standard methods for accessing your content and formatting it for use within our series mobile applications and online services, including but not limited to, popular social networks and messaging services.

Live Colony is capable of talking to existing APIs, providing reference APIs and/or importing data from standard RSS/XML formats (i.e. – hCal).

Once in the Live Colony servers, the data is normalized to deliver a consistent and high-quality experience to the user. For instance: Where is the event taking place? Is there an end time for the event? What news can we deduce from Twitter about the event? All of these details are determined by the Live Colony services to make sure information will be relevant and accessible by the event audience.

Leveraging open APIs to popular location & mapping services, Live Colony then maps venues and events onto their respective places. In the case where multiple events occur at a single venue, the Live Colony Services will create Group sites to inform audiences to all the activities in one venue.

branded channels of events

Live Colony offers a high-quality, branded experience for event organizers, consumer brands or local deal services.

Making your event stand apart is easy in the Live Colony services. Working with our technical and creative teams, your organization can create better brand-awareness around events or highlight special offers on a regional and time-specific basis. Live Colony provides several valuable textual and graphical customization in branded channels, including channel listing, map icons, listing graphics, configurable Twitter hashtag and ticketing links that engage audiences in your event details for your target cities and just for your event timeframe.

The branded channel is also a huge cost saving over developing and distributing a custom mobile application for a one-time series of events or short-term marketing campaign. Why require your users to download a YAMA (“yet another mobile application”) when you can deliver and deploy custom channels when you need them and into an application your audience will use year-round?

event and audience analytics

Live Colony lets you know what’s going on around your location, at your event or with your audience.

As a Small Business or even a National Chain, knowing what events will be in your area and how many attendees will be there is critical information for your marketing campaigns. No more putting that “sandwich board” outside your establishment to possibly lure in customers. Live Colony will show you when and where event audiences will be, and help you build campaigns specifically targeting those potential customers.

As the Event Organizer, you need to know who’s coming, when they arrive, who they’ve told about your event and what else they’re interested in so you can deliver relevant material and incentives to keep the audience engaged. Live Colony Services identifies what’s going on with your audience, so you can spend more time making a great event for them.

audience targeting, engagement & offers

Live Colony can communicate updates, changes & new opportunities to select audiences “on-the-go”.

Have last-minute tickets to sell? Want to offer an “insider” deal to the most engaged audience members? Have an update to any scheduled speakers/performers/special deals and need to get that information out? Live Colony will deliver the news to your audience in near real-time and in seamless, unobtrusive ways.

Imagine this horrific situation: You’ve planned out a series of concerts over 3 days, and 1/3 or your acts are not going to show up. Your print guides have already been delivered and can’t be changed in time for the crowds arriving. You may be able to update your website, but who’s going to look at your website from the small screen of their mobile phone?

Think this can’t happen? Well, it did. At Coachella 2010, 1/3 of the artists coming from Europe couldn’t get flights to California because of a freak volcano eruption. Did their mobile application update to reflect the changes to the lineup? No. Was the audience confused and angry? Yup!

Live Colony Services will keep you in contact with your audiences, letting them know about the great things they should know about and any unforeseen changes you may encounter. Message audience members that have marked the event as saved or going, deliver special offers through the Best Bets channel for last-minute deals or add/change/remove events on-the-fly using the Live Colony Services.
